This package will help you understand occupational health and safety hazards and laws and provide some practical solutions to common health and safety problems in the Manufacturing Industry.

This includes:

  • hazardous substances;
  • noise;
  • manual handling;
  • electrical hazards;
  • mechanical equipment; and
  • right to refuse unsafe work.

If you complete this package successfully you will receive an on-line ActSafe Manufacturing Industry Health and Safety Awareness Certificate signed by the ACT Commissioner for Occupaional Health and Safety.

Common Hazards in the Manufacturing Industry

There are common hazards that exist in the Manufacturing Industry. It is important to learn about these hazards and how to work safely in these environments.

Within this industry you may be involved in a range of work activities such as wood fabrication and turning, fabric dying and cutting, forming of acrylic sheeting, resin casting, and working with fibreglass.
